Classroom Goal: A classroom setting that promotes learning
and personal growth in an environment that is clean, orderly, friendly, and
comfortable for everyone.
Classroom
Do's:
1.
Help others in positive ways, not in ways
that cause them to depend on you.
2.
Ask questions in class—a question not
asked is an opportunity for understanding not taken.
3.
Participate in discussion. Share your learning with others.
4.
Talk to the teacher about problems or
concerns with class work. My goal is to help you succeed!
5.
Offer suggestions to improve the
class. No one person has all the answers—share
your ideas.
6.
We raise our hand to speak.
7.
We keep hands, feet and objects to
ourselves.
8.
We share.
9.
We walk in the classroom and halls.
10.
We
keep our room neat and clean.
11.
We
listen when our teacher or classmate is speaking.
12.
We
follow directions.
Classroom Don'ts
1. Private conversation during instruction time.
2. Profanity in words or in gestures.
3. Threatening or intimidating statements or
actions.
4. Copying another student's work.
5. Defacing furniture or equipment.
Class
Expectations
1. Turn homework in on time. Late homework will be accepted with a 10%
penalty for every day it is late. Expect
20-30 minutes of homework nightly. Plan
your time accordingly!
2. Be responsible for makeup work when you are
absent for any reason.
3. Be in the classroom when the tardy bell rings
or have an excuse from the office or another teacher.
4. If you arrive to school after 8:30, you will
be counted tardy to class.
5. Bring necessary materials to class every
day.
Required materials are: A blue or black ink pen, pencils, erasers,
crayons, colored pencils, a ruler, washable markers, a spiral notebook, ruled
loose-leaf notebook paper, and textbooks.
Make-up
Work
1. You have two (2) days from the day you return
from an excused absence to make up missed work.
I will try to remind you, but it is primarily your responsibility to
make up missed assignments.
2. Any work missed because of unexcused absences
cannot be made up.
Grading
Scale: Grades will be based on a
combination of homework assignments, in class activities, special projects,
quizzes, chapter tests, and unit tests.
The following grading scale will be used:
A 90 - 100%
B 80 - 89
C 70 - 79
D 60 - 69
If a student chooses to follow
rules and try their best they will earn tickets,
which are redeemable for
special coupons and privileges as well as "Pick-a-Ticket."
